When no standard medium fits your separation task, we develop the filter medium with you — from fibre and structure to the finished, integrated component.
The filter medium decides how a filtration system performs: separation efficiency, differential pressure, cleanability and service life. For new machines and processes, an off-the-shelf medium is often a compromise. R+F FilterElements develops filter media to your requirements — material, fibre structure, surface and filtration grade — and carries the development through prototypes into series supply.

When does a custom filter medium make sense?
- Your machine or process is new and the filtration has not yet been defined.
- Standard media blind too quickly, do not release the filter cake or do not reach the filtrate quality.
- Temperature, chemistry or mechanical stress exceed what standard media can handle.
- The medium has to fit a specific installation space, element geometry or cleaning concept.
- You want a medium that is designed as an integral part of your system rather than a purchased commodity.
What we can vary
Filter media are engineered materials. Depending on the application we work with woven fabrics, nonwovens, needle felts and pile structures, and vary the polymer, fibre fineness, density, thickness and surface finish. Surface treatments can improve cake release or cleanability.

Quantities and scope
Development, prototypes and series production are handled per project. Minimum quantities depend on material and construction and are clarified individually on request. Matching filter housings are available on request.

Do I need a complete specification to start?
No. A description of the separation task and the main process parameters is enough to start. We work out the specification together with you.
Can you supply samples for tests?
Yes. Media samples and prototype filter elements can be supplied for tests in your application.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
Minimum quantities depend on material and construction and are clarified per project on request.
Do you also supply filter housings?
Filter housings are available on request. Our focus is the filter medium and the filter element.
