Filtration for new machine development

You are developing a new machine, process or plant and the filtration is not yet defined? That is exactly where we come in.

Filtration engineering for new machine and plant development by R+F FilterElements

In many machine developments the filtration is defined late — once installation space, flow paths and costs are already fixed. That makes it harder to reach the required separation performance. R+F FilterElements gets involved early: we translate your separation task into a filtration concept, a medium and a filter element that fits your machine.

Where we support your development

1

Define the separation task

Which phases have to be separated — solid/liquid, liquid/liquid, gas/solid, gas/liquid?

2

Filtration concept

Surface or depth filtration, cleanable or replaceable, continuous or batch.

3

Medium & element

Selection or development of the medium and design of the filter element.

4

Installation space

Element geometry and arrangement matched to the space available in your machine.

5

Prototype & test

Prototype elements for validation in your machine.

6

Series supply

Reliable series supply of the approved element for your machine production.

Why involve filtration engineering early?

  • Installation space can still be planned for the filtration rather than around it.
  • Flow paths and pressure budget can be designed with realistic filter differential pressure.
  • Cleaning or replacement concepts can be integrated into the machine design and service plan.
  • The medium can be developed for your process instead of adapting a standard part.

We do not need a finished filter specification

A description of what your machine does and what has to be separated is enough to start. Typical parameters — medium, particle size, flow, pressure, temperature, chemistry and expected annual quantity — we work out together. Matching filter housings are available on request; quantities and minimum orders are clarified per project.

Frequently asked questions

At what stage of development should we contact you?

As early as possible — ideally while installation space and flow paths can still be adapted to the filtration.

Which separation tasks do you cover?

Solid/liquid, liquid/liquid, gas/solid and gas/liquid separation. Process gas filtration is covered in depth on our specialist site process-gas-filter.com.

Can you supply the filter elements for our series production?

Yes. After prototype approval we supply the filter elements for your series; quantities are agreed per project.
