Short filter life — why your filter elements do not last
When filter elements have to be replaced far too often, the cause can lie in the medium, the materials or the element design. We find it and engineer an element that lasts.

Short service life is rarely bad luck. Filter elements fail early for three reasons: they are loaded faster than their capacity allows, their materials are attacked by temperature or chemistry, or their construction does not withstand mechanical stress such as pressure surges or cleaning. Each cause needs a different fix.
Typical signs
Filter elements have to be replaced much more often than the manufacturer specified.
Used elements show deformation, cracks, detached end caps or damaged seals.
The medium looks brittle, discoloured or swollen after use.
Service life varies strongly although the process seems unchanged.
From problem to product
We do not start with the product; we start with the cause.
Elements fail early
Replacement far more often than planned, rising operating and downtime costs.
Load, material or mechanics
Capacity exhausted too fast, materials attacked by temperature or chemistry, or construction damaged by pressure or cleaning.
Fix the actual failure mode
More capacity, more resistant materials or a more robust construction — depending on the cause.
Element construction
Support core, end caps, seals and pleat or depth design matched to the operating stress.
Resistant materials
Medium, end-cap and seal materials selected for temperature and chemical environment.
Replacement filter elements
Independent replacement filter elements — also with an improved medium where useful.
How we approach it
Analyse the used element
A used element often shows directly whether load, material or mechanics caused the failure.
Materials for your conditions
Medium, end caps and seals selected for temperature and chemistry.
Same fit, better element
A replacement element can keep the original dimensions while using a more suitable medium or construction.
Three failure modes — three solutions
If the element is simply full, its dirt-holding capacity is too small for the load. More filter area, a better-suited filtration grade or a prefilter extends its life. This is closely related to clogging and differential pressure.
If the medium is brittle, discoloured or swollen, the materials are being attacked by temperature or chemistry. Here the medium, end-cap and seal materials have to be selected for the actual operating conditions.
If the element is deformed or damaged, the construction does not withstand the mechanical stress — pressure surges, flow reversal or cleaning. A stronger support core, different end-cap bonding or a modified construction solves this. Our independent replacement filters can keep the original fit while addressing the cause.
The product: replacement filter elements
Independent, form-fit-function replacement filter elements — with medium and construction matched to the real operating conditions.

Frequently asked questions
How do I find out why my filter elements fail early?
A used element is the best evidence. Deformation, brittle media or a simply full element each point to a different cause.
Can a replacement element last longer than the original?
It can, if the cause of the short life is addressed — for example with a more suitable medium or construction while keeping the original fit.
Do you need the original drawing?
No. A sample or the key dimensions are usually enough to start.
